Cyndi Soup Elliott ~ Founder, Vice President, Artistic Director
I have taught elementary school in both private and public schools since graduating from Michigan State University. I taught music at Emerson Elementary School after moving to Snohomish. I have written and directed many student productions as well as teaching theater classes. Since 2004 Cyndi Soup, my stage persona has performed for families both locally and internationally. I’ve seen this little idea of “community arts center” grow in leaps and bounds since 2003. Tim and I envisioned an artistic environment where we could connect with our neighbors, friends and community. That is what this little theater is all about. When you walk in the 4th street doors for a performance the lobby welcomes you, the halls welcome you, and the auditorium delights you. The auditorium is so intimate you feel like you can reach out and touch the performers.
On any Thursday you can schedule a voice, guitar or piano lesson. Tuesday and Friday afternoons your children can attend our theater and song performance classes. Every Friday night you can put those lessons to work at our Open Mic. If you don’t want to perform, then come sit and enjoy an evening of humor and down home talent. Saturdays are reserved for performances by local and national talent and the second sunday of every month you can join us for an afternoon of singing and playing your favorite music at our Second Sunday Song Syrcle.
Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater is your center for the arts and it is here for you and your family and friends to enjoy. Tell us what you are looking for and/or would like to teach. Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater welcomes your ideas and your help because it takes a village to raise a community performing arts center.
Lindsay Douglas ~ Founder, Treasurer
I am a founding member of Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater. I volunteer in a number of ways for the theater, acted as a principal puppeteer for The Thumbs Up Puppeteers’ Imagine Inn performances and created some of the puppets (Gus Puppy being my favorite) and props for those shows.
Previously I was a preschool teacher for many years and was actively involved on a PTA Board and the local board of the League of Women Voters. I have always been a strong supporter of the arts in education. I’ve even started piano lessons in the last few years. Perhaps you’ll hear me play some Friday in the future. Only when I’m ready as there is no pressure here at The Thumb.
Lisa Utter ~ Board Member
I became a supporter of the theater after sending my intrepid husband Eric off with a group of our children’s friends to the theater’s first holiday show. They came back raving about being called on stage to put on blue Elvis wigs, Eric in a tutu, and great music. Our family was soon attending open mics, and our daughter started taking classes with Tim. I love the atmosphere at the theater. It is a safe place to experiment and grow artistically. I have a legal and public policy background and currently work with a health advocacy non-profit.
Greg Deer ~ Building Maintainance, Fundraising
My involvement in the Thumbnail Theater goes back to 2009 when I began bringing my grandchildren to performances of The Imagine Inn with Cyndi Soup. At the same time I became aware of the Friday night Open Mics and began participating in performances myself. Since 1970 I have been a semi-professional musician, playing folk, country, rock and roll, and big band jazz. I have been gratified to be part of the “Thumb family,” a “Thumb Alum” as they say, and want to contribute my experience in the arts and business toward sustaining this valuable community asset and resource. I also host the Second Sunday Song Syrcle, and serve as musical director for our tribute show concerts. Join us!
Sharon Cordisco ~ Theater Manager, Volunteer Coordinator.
I discovered this little gem of a theater after attending an open mic a few years ago. There are no words to express the affection I feel for this wonderful group of people and the vision they bring to the community. The “Thumb” is a unique treasure, featuring classes, concerts, local and national-touring artists, music lessons, and a gathering place for countless collaborations and projects. I love volunteering and supporting music and the performing arts.
Gail Brenchley ~ Secretary, Graphic Design
Gail Brenchley was originally drawn to TNTT while looking for quality musical instruction for her five home-schooled children. As a certified teacher, and mother, Gail was impressed by the uniquely creative and nurturing atmosphere created by founders Tim Noah and Cyndi Elliott at the Thumb. Her professional experience with Adobe products and enjoyment of graphic arts allow her to design and create posters, flyers and brochures for the theater. Gail and husband, Jack, are passionate about the mission of TNTT and have seen first hand the impact it is has on the community. All five of their children have taken lessons and performed at TNTT, from their eldest, now a college freshman who still provides lighting at live performances and events as his schedule allows, to the younger four, who all currently take to the stage as characters in the Imagine Inn Shows.
Paul Jantzen ~ Board Member
Paul became interested in the Thumbnail Theater when he worked at Home Depot as the Community Coordinator for the store. After working on a couple of projects with the Theater, Paul tried the Friday Night Open Mic and was hooked. Tim Noah actually got up on stage with him to help with his initial performance! Paul has an extensive background in the High Tech industry, having worked as an executive in both the Marketing and Operations areas of several fast growing start-up companies. Our challenges at the Thumb are to grow our donor base and to add meaningful programs that support the local community. In addition, expanding our volunteer base will help to provide more hands to get the many jobs done that come along with supporting and growing a non-profit theater.
Tracy Cahill ~ Board Member
Orphaned by a plane crash over the jungles of the Indian Himalayas, Tracy was raised by tigers near the banks of the Ganges. As a young girl she dreamt of becoming a mermaid. All things considered, she is happy with the way things have turned out. Tracy graduated from Cornish College of the Arts where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater and later founded boom! theater company in Seattle. Her love of acting and playwriting brought her to the Thumb in the hopes of expanding and experimenting in the arts with her new community in Snohomish.
